Design of an Acoustic Synthetic Jet Actuator for Flow Control

Synthetic jet technology is widely adopted in active flow control. An actuator with an oscillating diaphragm a commonly used excitation device for synthetic generation. However, it has disadvantage wherein the volume at cross-section of cavity varies unevenly when vibrates, which makes difficult to use multiple jets corresponding one diaphragm. In this paper, acoustic that can generate was designed. The vibrated cylindrical cavity, transferring air another constant-volume square through pipes. covered multiple-orifice plate expulsion and suction ambient air. Through means, implementation achieved. are called distributed paper. Governing parameters determined performance were given by theoretical derivation.
